Baby/Newborn FAQ
Why hire a professional instead of getting photos done at franchise stores?
A professional will:
- Stay patient despite any emergencies that may happen in a session
- Take the time on each shot to get satisfactory results
- Travel to your location and setup a mini studio at the comfort of your home
- Personally owns the equipment and knows how to deal with various situations that may come up in the shoot
- Treat you and your images with care
How much does it cost and what is included?
The session cost $150 for newborns. It includes a 2 hours shoot at your home / somewhere indoors. With my portable studio the shoot can be taken anywhere in the house where there is enough room, as long as the baby stays warm.
Do you bring your own props?
Most of the props you see in my portfolio gallery are my own props. A lot of of them are handmade in-house!
What are retouched images?
This means that imperfections and distracting elements will be removed from the shots. All the image I provide to you will be inidividually touched up to make sure that what you receive is a unique and well-crafted art piece.
When is the ideal time to do a photoshoot?
The best time to do a newborn photoshoot is within the first week of their life. In the first week they fall asleep easily and can be posed without much fuss.
What outfit would you like to have for the baby?
For most of the shoot the baby will be in a diaper + diaper cover just like the ones you find in my portfolio. You can also bring your own outfit. I have previously shot newborns sleeping with a giant teddy bear and cuddling a firefighter suit!
When can I get the pictures?
After three – four weeks, depending on how busy I am at the time, you’ll get a CD / email containing approximately 20 pictures that you can print yourself at a print shop. In the cd there is a smaller set of pictures that can be easily emailed / uploaded to social sites.
What items should I prepare?
There are items that can really help the shot go smoothly; they are not must have, but most likely you have them lying around the home already:
- Blankets
- Pillows
- A basket big enough to fit the baby
- Black / dark colored clothing with no patterns (for parents)
- Simple colored clothing that matches with the baby
